The village of Zola, with the picturesque harbor and its wild beauty, is a fishing village in the northern part of the region of Paliki. The Zola which has few inhabitants is about 15 km from Argostoli, the capital of the island, and very close to the road that connects Argostoli with Lixouri which is the second-largest city on the island.

Zola offers visitors many tourist accommodations for their stay and restaurants and cafes for their amusement. In the village, nature lovers will find many trails ideal for walking.

Very close to Zola is the magnificent beach of Agia Kyriaki, which is considered among the best in Kefalonia. Visitors can go to Agia Kyriaki either from the village Agonas (located just 2 km away) or from Zola (about 1 km). The Agia Kyriaki beach is a lovely sandy beach with turquoise waters where there are a canteen and fish taverns. Motorboats can be rented in Agia Kyriaki, for those who want to explore the small neighboring beaches that are accessible only from the sea. Also, just 6 km away is the famous Myrtos beach, with its huge white sandy beach, fine white pebbles, and crystal clear waters, while less than 5 km lies the beautiful beach of Atheras in which there is a tavern very close to the sea.
