Svoronata is located 9 km from Argostoli and very close to the airport of Kefalonia with breathtaking views over the Ionian Sea and the island of Dias.
In recent years the village has known a big touristic development without compromising its traditional style and has all kinds’ of accommodation and restaurants, a gas station, a mini market and car rental office.
At a short distance from the village, the visitor will find the organized sandy beaches Ammes, Avithos, Ai Helis and Minies which enchant the visitor with crystal clear waters.
It is a large village with many traditional houses that were not destroyed by the 1953 earthquake and reminds the younger people of the Kefalonian architecture and the particular technique of blacksmiths of the village, which stands in the characteristic doors (gates) of the pre-earthquake houses.
