Sami is a small town and one of the largest ports of Kefalonia, connecting the island to Patras, Ithaca, Astakos and cities in Italy. It is situated in the eastern part of the island, 22 km from Argostoli and has 1,025 residents.

Its geographical location offers visitors an incredible view since it is built in a bay and around it, there are green mountains. Other area attractions are the Lake-Cave Melissani, the Drogarati Cave, Karavomilos and Panagia of Agrilion with the incredible views to Ithaca.
