Peratata is 8 km away from Argostoli, it is built on the slopes of mountain Ainos and has 500 residents. It is a picturesque, green village with beautiful houses and courtyards full of flowers.
Above the village is the hill on which the medieval Castle of St. George and the Church of the Annunciationis (dating from 1580) is built on 16 acres of land. In Peratata there is also the Monastery of St. Andreas Milapidias in which there is a church museum with many images and other valuable religious relics.
The village has a range of accommodation, and whatever else visitors need in order to have a lovely holiday. Apart from rooms for rent, there is also a beautiful 2 star Hotel with a pool, cafes and taverns, a mini market and all amenities. The nearest beach is the beautiful beach of Ag. Thomas, in the next village Karavados, where visitors will find an excellent restaurant and a lovely cafe with fantastic sea views.
