Katelios is one of the beautiful and picturesque fishing villages of Kefalonia, located in the southern part of the island and more specifically in the Municipality of Eliou-Pronon.

Katelios is located near the tourist village of Skala and its inhabitants live mainly in Ano Katelio, which is the old place of the village. In the lower part of the village, that is in Kato Katelios, there are the tourist lodgings, the famous fish taverns with delicious seafood, the cafes etc. Katelios has no intense nightlife, it remains a quiet destination that attracts travelers seeking quiet holidays and relaxation, nature lovers, bird watchers, walkers, etc.

Agia Varvara is the main long beach of Katelios with sand and pebbles, while the famous beach of Ratzakli, where the turtles are located, is just 2 km from the village. The village has mini markets, souvenir shops, etc. For those who would like to get a dose of nightlife, there is the nearby and cosmopolitan village of Skala, as well as regular transportation with Argostoli.

In the village, there is also a group whose main activity is the study and protection of the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta, which spawns its eggs on the nearby Munda beach.
